BTW, I have found some comments on the net, that these cards are “broken” and should be avoided as plague, etc. I am sure that when I built this system long time ago, it worked fine but it reports many DMA errors now, too many errors and it works slowly because there are many retries. If you’re not trying to boot from the satalibk connected to the controller, often you can bypass obstinate add-in controller BIOSes by not loading them, then let your OS load the controller’s driver later to access the drives.
