Especially dacmafic you seem to be using it in a permanent vs. Thanks Brenda, I’ve been in touch with Cambridge Audio but they’ve not managed to suggest anything other than it could be an issue with Windows I hate to suggest people buy something new to fix a problem, but this might be life nudging you to upgrade. Really, for this particular matter of detecting the device the DAC isn’t any different from a USB keyboard or mouse, which of course nobody would ever put up with re-plugging on reboot.

USB audio device not selectable in Windows 10
I set everything up how CA suggest you do make it the default “speaker” in Windows Sound Control Panel app and its all latest drivers and firmware. So my question, is this by design? You were in touch with Cambridge Audio, but just to be sure, do the USB drivers on their website not apply to your device? How satisfied are you with this reply?
