Monday, January 19, 9: Sunday, July 26, I right-clicked on each in turn and used the Properties to make changes. Sicne Compatibility Mode, Run as Admin and Manual force are the only options i have ever seen and tried to get drivers installed. Last edited by thejonmoore; at

Gateway Finepoint Pen – Battery
It was not a pleasent experience and I am somewhat concerned that the drivers may pose some security risks. Click okay and then run the application as normal. Windows 7 Hardware Compatibility.
Then fire up xev and confirm that the pen is sending events that X can yateway correctly. It looks like the problem gets fixed by removing the unknown device then running windows update again. My suggestion is that when you ask something that you ALSO provide the instructions on how to do it.
One other note, the “unknown device” is still there; I just kept it uninstalled now.
I hope that in the future that you and others will add the path to the feature mentioned as these days there are considerable differences among the OS’s XP, Vista, Win 7 and all the Server versions. The hardware in question is a Gateway mE. Note that registered members see fewer ads, and ContentLink is completely disabled once you log in. I went to the link u gave and installed it from there. Everything Caeda said is basically all that needs to be done.
You say there is no setup. When I tried to, it would give a list of items to be removed and then gave me a weird error.
I happen to work for the company, but I am reading this forum because I too have a Gateway and I too am trying to make it work on Windows 7. I can’t say for finepooint what did it, but I’d be willing to bet that uninstalling the “unknown device” that is trying to install driver is the prolem.
Office Office Exchange Server.
The sooner the pen works the sooner windows leaves.
Finepoint Driver failing install from update and manually
Now with the Compatibility option set and the old stuff uninstalled I went to Windows Update and selected the driver from the list of available options. Also the buttons on the screen aren’t working, except the “block” one Vista- and since I have a 2.
Hi, I have a Gateway CX I wanted to try W7 for it’s touch screen capabilities and this is the only driver failing. Following the reboot the Tablet options were available in the Control Panel and I was able to use the Pin to calibrate and use the Tablet.
From Device Manager uninstall the Unknown Device. Initially it failed from windows update but, than also failed when i tried to manually install the Vista drivers. The i driver supports rotation just fine.
